Balancing the Edge-A Threshold-Aware Strategy for Fog Computing

Abstract: The Threshold-Aware Load-Balancing Algorithm introduces a novel approach to managing dynamic traffic in fog computing networks by incorporating device-specific thresholds into the load-balancing decision process. Unlike traditional algorithms that ignore critical threshold constraints during switch selection and migration, this algorithm adapts its operations to respect the performance boundaries of individual network components. The algorithm operates through three interconnected modules such as the switch selection component, the controller selection component, and the migration component. By integrating threshold-awareness into each stage of the balancing process, the proposed algorithm ensures more efficient resource utilization, reduces the risk of performance degradation, and maintains stability in dynamic fog environments
