Academic publishing is the subfield of publishing which distributes academic research and scholarship.
Most academic work is published in academic journal article, book or thesis form.
Most established academic disciplines have their own journals and other outlets for publication,
although many academic journals are somewhat interdisciplinary, and publish work from several distinct fields or subfields.
In this lecture, we discuss the impact of computer science in the academic publishing, the current trends
in the academic publishing, the indexes etc...
Brief Biography of the Speaker:
Nikos E. Mastorakis received the Diploma (B.Sc and M.Sc) in Electrical Engineering from the
National Technical University of Athens (1988), Greece;
the Ph.D in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, National Technical University of Athens (1992)
the B.Sc in Pure Mathematics, National University of Athens, www.math.uoa.gr (1995).
He also studied Medicine in the Medical School of Athens (1982-1984 and 1988-1992) without getting the M.D.
He has published more than 1000 papers in international journals and conferences and served in the following
2008-today: Professor at Technical University of Sofia, Sofia, Bulgaria
1995- today: Professor at Military Institutes of University Education (ASEI), Hellenic Naval Academy (HNA), Piraeus, Greece
1998-1999: Visiting Professor, University of Exeter, United Kingdom
2002-2003: Visiting Professor, Technical University of Sofia, Sofia, Bulgaria
2007-2008: Visiting Professor, Technical University of Sofia, Sofia, Bulgaria
2014-2015: Visiting Professor, University of Salerno, Salerno, Italy
He is also Honorary Professor at:
